Ryan's lab results were totally inconclusive today. His platelet count has dropped even more but everything else is stable. He also had a chest x-ray to rule out pnemonia because of his cough. Dr. P started him on antibiotics again for the cough. She also scheduled him for a bilateral bone marrow biopsy and engraftment analysis tomorrow morning to rule out relapse again. :( This SUCKS.
...The bilateral bone marrow biopsy is a super precautionary measure, but it's also a sign that there is a serious concern regarding relapse. He hasn't had a bone marrow biopsy since his mandatory 30 days post-transplant biopsy. The concern is there because the last time he relapsed, he looked totally healthy, just like he does now. On the upside, all his other lab results are stable and his differentials did not show any blasts (immature white blood cells). We are all hoping this is JUST A COUGH.
I will most likely not be answering my phone for a while. I think it's a sinus headache, mixed in with some tension. Just took some Ibuprofen and I just want to decompress a little right now. I'm sorry, but I don't really feel like at the moment.
